Musings… Is it better late than never?

July 3rd, 2009 | Posted by: Stephen | Comments (1)

I’ll try and keep this post short and efficient…

Was reminded by Jamie, a follower of this blog, that I haven’t posted anything here for several weeks now. What’s up with that? I blame it on the “P” word.

What in the world is the P-word you may be wondering…

Was I “processing” stuff? Or was I taking a break these past few weeks and “pampering” myself? I wish.

No, it was the big P-word that catches up and snares us in its inertia. That’s right. PROCRASTINATION… I got caught up in it. Yikes, what an enlightening realization. I feel lighter already.

Are you a member of the Procrastination Nation? It’s membership is legion. Probably upwards in the millions, no make that billions of people served. Rivals McDonald’s. Now that is scary.

But it’s time for me to break out of it. I do not want to be a member of Procrastination Nation any longer. Because time is of the essence. I’ve got things to do… How about you?

We must live life in the moment.

Seize the day! Just do it. Because, he who hesitates is lost…

Here’s an example of why one must not procrastinate… Several weeks ago I read an article in the Midweek newspaper about a cool ‘Chocolat’ shop in Kailua. Wow, there’s actually one here on Oahu – just like in the movies! I was inspired to write about it in this blog to share my delight. But, I put it off for another day… When I finally felt the “urge” to write about the chocolate store, I couldn’t find the article. The Midweek had been thrown out in the trash. The result of my dragging my behind is that I wasn’t able to share with you something special. My bad.

(If anyone knows the name and location of the chocolat shop in Kailua please let me know. Otherwise, I will make it a point to find it the next time I’m in Kailua, and let you know. YES I WILL!)

As the 4th of July approaches, please join me in owning our independence from the control of the procrastination energy. Let us topple down the Procrastination Nation, and be free!

Please don’t wait too long. Okay?

Stephen

set me freeeeee! thanks for the update.. i enjoy reading your reflections. today my customer told me a long story about losing her bracelet, and she pondered if she was supposed to learn about letting go (cause she admitted to having a hard time with that concept). I wished her luck in finding it, and congratulated her on receiving the blessing of an experience where she had the opportunity to meet her challenge of letting go and moving on. She kinda gave me a stinky look. hmmm. what's my point? i think musing about something is way easier than the actual practice, so writing about the procrastination of writing is quite a conundrum and a very cool breakthrough. good nite!
