"Tree Feet. Tree Feet!"

…or in other words, another slant on the Law of Attraction…

I received an email yesterday from Rene, a friend of mine, who is so wise and funny at the same time. What struck me in what she shared was how ‘manifesting’ came so naturally for her. Rene says that she wishes she could teach how she manifests to people. But she says, “I don’t know how it’s done.”

Well, I believe we all do it in our own way. But oftentimes we don’t believe that manifesting can be so easy. Yet, if we don’t think about it so much, what we choose to ‘mock-up’ comes to us with no effort.

Let me tell you a story…

I used to be an avid surfer. Part of being a surfer involves going to the beach and checking out how the waves are breaking. Sometimes when you’re there hoping to see big and perfect waves breaking… there are none. Even though there may be a large crowd of surfers in the water. What’s up with that picture?

If you should ask a fellow surfer who just paddled in from the surf, “Eh brah, how was it? How big?” The answer you would get more often than not is, “Tree feet. Tree feet.” Translated, it means ‘three foot’ high waves. I guess three feet is the standard. Or, a way to pull a fellow surfers leg. But perhaps there’s magic in the words, “Tree feet. Tree feet!”

When I do paddle out into the lineup to surf, sometimes there are no waves to be found. Flat. Nada. The doldrums… where you may have to wait 15 minutes for a good size wave to roll in — with 20 other surfers ready to pounce on it. What is a soul surfer to do?

Sitting out there with nothing to do can get the imagination firing.

This is what I learned how to do…

Sitting on my surfboard facing out to sea, I would close my eyes and be in the ‘center of my head’. Then I would let my imagination play… I would see a perfect wave looming out of the horizon and heading straight for me. As the wave gets closer I notice how beautiful and perfect it is. My, it even looks three feet high. Ahhh, tree feet!

When ‘my’ wave reaches me, I turn around and start stroking for it. I feel myself being lifted up by the speed and energy of the wave, and before I know it, I’m up and riding it. I feel/see myself doing all of these neat maneuvers as I ride my perfect wave in… bottom turns, cutbacks, re-entries, getting tubed. Oh, what a rush!

After ‘feeling’ the feeling of riding my perfect wave to completion in my imagination, I open my eyes… I’m back. Waiting like all the other surfers for some waves to come our way. I gotta deal with them, and in doing so, I ‘let go’ of my perfect wave. In essence, by forgetting about it — I’ve released it to the Universe.

Guess what happens next?

My perfect wave comes to me. It may not be right away. Perhaps 10 minutes after my ‘imagination session’, but my actual perfect waves comes to me. “Yeah baby. Come to papa!” What’s even more amazing are the maneuvers I do on my wave. They are exactly how I imagined them!

How does this happen?

I imagined. I made it ‘real’ by being in my mock-up as I saw my perfect wave approaching, and caught it! Feeling the joy and bliss of riding my wave sent out to the Universe the vibration of my certainty. And letting go of it, as I returned from the center of my head space back to the present moment out in the water, allowed me to get out of the way. In other words, “Let go and let God.”

So, the next time you are desiring to manifest something, practice the simple technique described above. You may also want to say this mantra too (maybe not out loud though)…

“Tree feet. Tree feet.”

And see what happens.

Have fun!
